Hosted by Apex for Youth Associate Board & Send Chinatown Love​

Join us on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024 at 7pm at Essex Pearl for an epic night of food, fortune, and community as we ring in the Year of the Dragon. Enjoy a delicious family-style dinner, Asian inspired cocktails, and exclusive raffle prizes! 

​All proceeds (including raffle tickets) support Apex for Youth and Send Chinatown Love's initiatives in empowering Apex's elementary explorers programs with meals from local businesses. 

Tickets include a Southeast Asian inspired family-style dinner, cocktails, and one free raffle ticket.

Send Chinatown Love: Supper Club

In 2023, Send Chinatown Love began hosting supper clubs to bring together old and new members of the SCL community, meet and engage with like minded company, and enjoy delicious food. We hosted three successful supper clubs with 886, Potluck Club (partnered with the Green Tile Social Club), and Hainan Chicken House.

A night of celebration for the official release of Made Here, a volunteer-built cookbook featuring recipes, photos, and in-depth stories from 43 restaurants in more than 24 neighborhoods across NYC. On Monday, Nov. 13, we gathered at the Red Pavilion, Bushwick’s own Asian-owned neo-noir cabaret and nightclub, and mingled with the Send Chinatown Love community and the teams behind some of the city's essential Asian restaurants.

Fundraiser Trivia Night
As part of our initiatives for Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) 2023, Send Chinatown Love hosted a trivia night at Hoi Polloi, Flushing’s newest beer hall in Tangram Mall! Join us for a fun-filled night of friendly competition, with questions focused on AAPI history, culture, music, and food.

100 Ways to Send Chinatown Love
To celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) this May, Send Chinatown Love hosted an event called "100 WAYS TO SEND CHINATOWN LOVE – EVERYTHING CHINATOWN ALL AT ONCE." 

This is an ultimate guide to NYC's Chinatowns, where participants will receive a list of activities across Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. You can still access our 100 Ways list to explore Chinatown!

ASSEMBLY for CHINATOWN: Restoration, Relocation and Removal of outdoor dining

After many restaurants set up outdoor dining during COVID, the Manhattan Chinatown community is now experiencing unsafe and unpleasant streetscapes, such as overcrowded sidewalks and vandalized outdoor spaces. This has negatively affected the safety of its community and the health of the businesses in Chinatown. This Giving Tuesday, help A+A+A and Think!Chinatown fundraise to cover costs of Restoration, Relocation and Removal of outdoor dining structures.

ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH

For the month of May in honor of APAHM, Send Chinatown Love organized a series of community initiatives centered around the theme of BUILDING BRIDGES & MAKING CONNECTIONS. We chose this theme in light of recent events that have historically occurred and continue to occur – among the Asian hate crimes, subway shootings, and closure of our beloved small businesses, we are deprived of our right to feel safe in our communities.

Send Chinatown Love: Digital Cookbook

Launched in 2021, the Digital Cookbook was a collection of recipes from some of our early merchant partners. The product was designed to be digitally-accessible to all, offering a celebration of the many flavors beloved by New York’s Chinatown communities. The campaign raised $2060, from April to May 2021.

2022 CAMPAIGN
Lunar New Year Gift-a-Meal​
In the new year of the Tiger, we committed $150,000+ to fund Gift-a-Meal campaigns throughout the month of February 2022. We will be partnered with 30+ Chinatown merchants and 25+ community distribution partners to serve over 12,000 meals to low-income families, unhoused community members, and vulnerable seniors across NYC.

Special Edition Zine​

Send Chinatown Love Letters is a limited release 80-page collection full of poignant photography, visceral vignettes, mouthwatering recipes, longform features and intricate illustrations. This celebration of community, courage and culture is a collective outpouring of love from over 50 contributors to all of New York City’s vibrant Chinatowns.

APAHM Gift-a-Meal

Throughout the month of May, Send Chinatown Love is directly addressing this through our APAHM Gift-a-Meal campaign. To honor the resilience of Chinatowns across NYC during APAHM, we’re committing $101,500 to fund Gift-a-Meal campaigns with 29 of our merchants.
Friend of a Friend Studio x SCL 2021

For our one-year anniversary, we collaborated again with Friend of a Friend Studio to create a collection of styles in support of the Chinatown community. The Crane is a bringer of peace, longevity, and good fortune. And ours is in motion, with bright, colorful wings open. A symbol of the selfless love, the bold fight, the tireless spirit that keeps the heart of Chinatown beating.

100% of proceeds from sales are donated directly to support Chinatown/AAPI merchants and communities through Send Chinatown Love.

Ronin x SCL: Save Chinatown Capsule

On February 15, Ronin released its Save Chinatown capsule to support SCL's efforts as well as other Asian American owned businesses, brands and influencers. 100% of the profits went towards our Gift-A-Meal program to support Chinatown restaurants and the meals were donated to the Bowery Mission.

For the month of February, Send Chinatown Love hosted a Lunar New Year (LNY) Crawl in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens to celebrate the special holiday. This event highlighted 29 vendors, ranging from gift shops to restaurants, to encourage communities to shop at local Asian-owned businesses in celebration of Lunar New Year! 
Light Up Chinatown
